1) Description of  Herringbone Gear

The gear transmits power and motion between parallel shafts that do not intersect and that may or may not have a central groove, with each group forming two opposing helices. The two helix angles meet at the centre of the gear face to form a “V”. In these gears, the final thrust forces cancel each other out.
